Asbestos Removal – a sweet success in Croydon at Nestle Tower

Inner City have secured the asbestos removal works as part of the major redevelopment taking place at the Nestle Tower in Croydon. The Nestle tower is an iconic building located in the centre of Croydon.

Inner City Environmental are currently working on a wide range of asbestos removal and remediation projects in Central London and the South East. The Nestle Tower is a substantial contract for Inner City Environmental

The Nestle tower was designed by architects Ronald Ward and Partners, who also designed Millbank Tower, and it was completed in 1964. It has long since become a landmark building in Croydon. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestl%C3%A9_Tower)

Our work is taking place over a programme of 60 weeks. The work involves the removal of notifiable and non notifiable works and is for one of the leading main contractors in the country.

    Progress, Arla Dairy Asbestos Removal

We are coming to the end of the 1st week at our project for Hughes & Salvidge at the Arla dairy in Chelmsford.

We have been appointed as the asbestos removal contractor, to assure that the site is free of ACM’s prior to redevelopment.

The site is currently being cleared of all the old dairy equipment, which is being sold via auctions over the coming weeks. Our operatives are currently removing all of the different ACM’s from the buildings. There are areas of asbestos insulation board (AIB) which are getting removed under fully controlled conditions, including some that is inconveniently sandwiched between the walls and a layer of foam. There also various cement corrugated cement roofs that are to be removed under semi controlled conditions. We will be on site for a further 5 weeks before handing the site back to Hughes & Salvidge so that they can continue with the demolition.
  • Sudbury Project Update

    Sudbury Project Update

Inner City Environmental have been involved in a large asbestos removal project for North East Demolition.

The site is the former Guildford Europe site on Radiator Road in Sudbury. The works involved removal of all licensed asbestos from all of the vacant commercial buildings on the site. There were several large boilers, pipe insulation and thermal insulation on steel girders in the roof to remove. Inner City Scaffolding were required to erect large areas of licensed scaffold to allow the asbestos operatives access to strip the roofs and the boilers. The duration of the works is 16 weeks in total and is to be completed around Christmas. The circa £300k project is one of the many that have been completed for North east Demolition recently and we are looking forward to continue to work with them in the future.
